Markus Klinko Celebrates 30 Years of Iconic Photography
In celebration of Klinko’s 30-year career, the gallery will unveil a selection of his iconic celebrity portraits as he joins bG Gallery’s prestigious Modern Masters blue chip collection.
Klinko’s photography, celebrated worldwide, captures some of pop culture’s most influential figures. The exhibition will feature a remarkable span of celebrity portraits, from his legendary images of David Bowie to his recent striking photographs of contemporary stars like Ice Spice and Lady Gaga. His bold, thought-provoking work goes beyond mere glamorization, encouraging audiences to examine society’s fascination with fame.
Reflecting on his journey, Klinko shares, “As I celebrate my 30th career anniversary, my goal remains to document pop culture. Our society’s worship of celebrity culture still fascinates me, and I see my mission as merely holding up a mirror, reflecting back, as our obsession with fame takes on the role of religion. I am not judging whether this is good or bad, but hope to instigate a wider conversation to further investigate this phenomenon.”
Klinko’s collaboration with bG Gallery marks a significant moment as the gallery hosts his works as part of its Modern Masters collection, an exclusive collection of significant artists with cultural influence and lasting impact. The unveiling will also coincide with the 30th anniversary celebrations of Bergamot Station, a fitting tribute to both the artist’s and the art community’s contributions over the past three decades.
